Lexus Unveils the 2013 LS

Lexus has revealed details of the new 2013 LS lineup, which will include four unique trims. The lineup includes the LS 460, LS 460L, the LS 600hL hybrid, and the all-new 460 F Sport.

Instantly noticeable is the new spindle grille, which is now a design hallmark of Lexus. The new LS also offers all LED lighting with an optional package.

Drivers will also notice a difference in drive quality of the Lexus LS. Increased body rigidity has provided more stability and comfort throughout the cabin while the revised braking system allows for more responsiveness and immediate power. Steering has been improved for better response with turns. New frequency dependent shock absorbers eliminate bounce with its road-hugging qualities, providing for a smoother drive. To enhance driving comfort, special noise reduction wheels ensure a quiet ride in the LS.

Safety features on the 2013 Lexus LS include Lane-Keep Assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a pre-collision system that detects pedestrians. Automatic cruise control measures the distance of the vehicles ahead and can bring the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary. High beams can adjust automatically to different driving situations.

Inside, drivers of the new 2013 LS will find the elite Lexus Climate Concierge, which customizes the temperature for each vehicle occupant. The Remote Touch function allows drivers to control multiple functions such as temperature, fan operation, and music via buttons on the steering wheel. A 12.3-inch navigation screen is standard. Finally, the Entune connectivity system opens up a whole new world to drivers. Users can conduct searches on Bing, check into places on Facebook, search reviews on Yelp, make restaurant reservations on OpenTable via voice-enabled apps, and reserve tickets on MovieTickets.com. Entune also allows for access to Pandora and iHeartRadio.

To say that rear seat passengers in the LS are well taken care of is an understatement. Get this: the LS is offered with an Ottoman Seating Package with Shiatsu Massage. Also for rear seat passengers is a back seat entertainment system with Blu-ray DVD player, SD card slot, and nine-inch full color VGA screen.

The brand-new Lexus LS 460 F Sport adds a new twist to the luxury experience. The F Sport model boasts a more aggressive exterior as well as a sporty interior. Inside, drivers will find sporty seats with larger bolsters as well as aluminum trim and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Brembo brakes and a Torsen limited slip rear differential add to the sporty appeal.

Pricing information has not yet been announced for the 2013 Lexus LS. It is not expected to be less than the 2012 model, which started for $67,630.
